I bought three of these in Dec 2024 when my flooring was refinished, one for each bedroom. It's been a life-saver, being able to live in our house while VOCs are gassing off downstairs, knowing the rooms are clear of chemicals - no smell at all - because of these amazing air purifiers. We leave them on all the time. One of them, however, is oddly louder than the other two, and not sure why.
Quickly after receiving two of these units I realized the air does not draw into the unit enabling the air to be pulled through the filter and released. The filter is designed in my opinion poorly as it blows air from the top and is assumably drawn in from the bottom. The problem is there is no air being drawn in from the unit. Essentially it is cavitating and I ran a test using a product called smoke in a bottle which shows even the slightest air movement. I placed the smoke in a bottle about 1 ft away from the unit on the lower side which is supposed to be the intake side and puffed smoke. The results were that the smoke was pushed away from the unit as opposed to pulling it in to filter it. I tried this multiple times with the same results. After contacting the dealer and the manufacturer originally they thought something was wrong as hearing those details anyone would suspect. Upon their investigating of the unit the response later was that's the way it's supposed to work. In my opinion that's the issue is that it does not work and in order to filter error it must be pulled through the filter and cycled out. The air around the unit seems to cavitate and I can only imagine if it cannot pull air in from one foot away how in the world is it going to pull air in across the room? Again my opinion it's not going to. I wanted to attach a video of an experiment that I did with the smoke in the bottle but I did not see a link that gives me the ability to upload the video. Just my opinion again but if I were going to purchase a unit I would look elsewhere then this unit.
This unit is actually smaller than I thought it would be and it is really well put together and sturdy. I don't see any visible dust floating in the air when I have it on, like I normally do.
I used this filter when I cooked a steak to clean out the smoke from the room. Worked very quickly and reduced the smell! Pleased with the purchase
After experiencing persistent asthma exacerbations and wheezing episodes in my newly constructed home, I systematically investigated potential environmental triggers. Through a process of elimination, I identified elevated volatile organic compound (VOC) levels likely originating from construction materials and off-gassing furnishings. Implementing Airpura's air purification system with medical-grade activated carbon filtration proved transformative - I successfully discontinued daily montelukast and antihistamine regimens while achieving sustained respiratory relief. This solution effectively addressed the indoor air quality challenges inherent to new builds, demonstrating remarkable efficacy in neutralizing airborne chemical contaminants. I commend Airpura for engineering a purification technology that restored my respiratory health and living environment!
